Tomatino

Novidades

As novidades de cada versão do Tomatino, a mais recente no topo. As mesmas notas que a App Store mostra.

2.4.0

2.3.2

A setting changed on your iPhone or iPad no longer makes Tomatino quit on the Mac. With Spotify chosen as the source but not installed, Tomatino now says so, where macOS used to ask where Spotify was. A music folder whose files are still in iCloud now plays, and a new shuffled round starts with a different track than the one that just played. The Music tab shows the folder as ~/Music, and Open Settings for notifications goes straight to Tomatino.

2.3.1

If you still use the Focus shortcuts from before 2.3.0, the Focus tab in Settings now tells you after your next session, with the two steps to update them. Only the new shortcuts give back the Focus you had on before a session.

2.3.0

The Focus that was on before a session now comes back at every break and when you pause or reset, a scheduled one included. Until now Tomatino left no Focus at all, so Do Not Disturb you had switched on yourself was gone after the first session.

This needs the updated Focus shortcuts. If you have the old ones, delete both in the Shortcuts app, then press Add shortcuts in Tomatino's overview or in Settings > Focus mode. If you had picked a different mode, set it again in both.

2.2.1

When Tomatino plays a folder of your own files, Control Center and the media keys now name the track that is playing. They used to show the one before it.

2.2.0

Tomatino asks for access to your music library when you switch the music on. Until now the question came in the middle of your first session.

A playlist you add in Apple Music shows up by itself the next time you open Tomatino, so the refresh button is gone.

The Focus settings fold the shortcut names away, since the shortcuts Tomatino brings along need nothing typed in. The keyboard shortcut switch names its keys.

2.1.3

The app icon is drawn for the size it actually appears at. On the home screen the dial

reads as a dial instead of blurring into a grey ring, and the card on the lock screen got

the same treatment.

2.1.2

Command-comma opens the settings again instead of an empty window.

A crash used to leave macOS in Focus with nothing left to take it back. Tomatino notices that at the next launch and switches it off once.

Apple Music stayed silent for the rest of the cycle if you paused a session in its first seconds, and a playlist or music folder corrected mid-session only took effect at the next phase. Both start the music again now.

The four system sounds carry their macOS names in German. Fixed as well: clicking the settings tab that was already open cut off the music sample you were listening to, and resetting during those first seconds could send the playlist back to its first track.

2.1.1

Apple Music now plays inside Tomatino. It used to go through the Music app, which cost an automation permission and opened a window nobody asked for. What it needs instead is access to your music library, and the Music app stays closed. Spotify is unchanged.

The Start button is readable again in dark mode: it carried the lighter phase colour, which left its white lettering short of the contrast it needs.

Fixed: the card about an unreachable music folder stayed after you switched sources. A Live Activity you swiped away came back at the next phase. The reset button stayed live with nothing to reset. The pulsing ring around the session dots ignored Reduce Motion. Spotify could keep playing after you quit Tomatino. And the name of the break could disappear over a light desktop.

2.1.0

Tomatino now runs on iPhone and iPad, in the same purchase. The same timer over the whole screen, with the running phase on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island, where a button pauses and resumes it; music there comes from an Apple Music playlist or from a folder of files.

Your settings travel over iCloud, so lengths, cycle, auto-start, notifications and shuffle read the same on every device of yours. The music source stays where it was set.

New on the Mac: the break can cover the screen while it runs, over every display and over apps in full screen, if you switch that on under Timer. Escape or the button takes it away.

Fixed: a break that ended while the Mac slept could turn on Focus and start the playlist at the login screen. Quitting now gives the music long enough to pause. The permission cards keep what they measured. And the test player stops when a session takes over the music.

2.0.0

The first release of Tomatino on the App Store.

Tomatino is a Pomodoro timer for the menu bar that switches your Focus mode and your music along with the session. Until now it existed outside the store. From this version on it comes from the App Store, runs in the App Sandbox and updates through it.

Coming from an older version? This one is a fresh install rather than an update, so durations, playlist and session count start at their defaults, and the old copy stays where it is until you delete it. The two Focus shortcuts stay in the Shortcuts app.
